A few days ago, a young entrepreneur came into my office, visibly down and depressed. We had a coffee and talked a little about his situation at work and his life in general.

His business is doing very well. He’s hardworking and diligent, healthy, surrounded by people who trust and cheer him on, and in a relationship with the person he loves and sees himself with for the long haul.

Despite all of this, he says he feels restless, depressed, and anxious – and has for months. And he doesn’t know what the reason is.

Our meeting was scheduled for 9 a.m., but even after our brief conversation, I noticed that before he came to see me, he sat down at a nearby coffee store, drank coffee, flipped through some daily newspapers, and checked the news on Facebook.

At some point, it clicked, and the situation became crystal clear to me.

Since I opened my coaching practice (2009), I’ve worked with hundreds of people and heard their life stories firsthand about various ups and downs.

And I’ll tell you something…

All these people who have decided to rise above their problems and do something they’re proud of today agree on a simple idea that could be summarized briefly as follows…

Forget about the daily newspapers, news portals, and social media before 11 a.m. Don’t let your early morning go by without at least 15-20 minutes (or even more) of prayer or meditation and at least 20 minutes of literature that inspires you and feeds your soul.

Clients (especially empaths) who have followed this advice for only 30 days have told me that it wasn’t easy for them to establish this habit, but after establishing it, they felt much more in control of their lives and had a strong inner peace.

You just have to adopt this habit if you don’t want to be part of the chaos around us.

The daily newspapers, including various portals, are full of negative stories that evoke feelings of helplessness, anger, frustration, and apathy, focusing mainly on what is wrong. When you read them early in the morning, you gradually program your mind that focusing on what is wrong and bad is perfectly normal.

Unfortunately, frustration, nervousness, worry, and indifference are the prevailing moods of most people you meet.

You don’t need that, and you don’t need to be part of that story.

No one is asking you to do this.

Life is more than chaos and frustration.

But, if you don’t train your mind differently, you’ll undoubtedly become part of the general chaos, frustration, and disappointment as well.

A Course in Miracles says, “An untrained mind can accomplish nothing.”

Take control of your life because your life matters!

You can do this because within you is the STRENGTH that can enable you to do this, but you must create the opportunity and the conditions for it to be expressed THROUGH you.

And remember the following line from A Course in Miracles. Write it down on a piece of paper or anything else you prefer, and read it every day:

“There is a place in you where there is perfect peace. There is a place in you where nothing is impossible. There is a place in you where the strength of God abides.”
